Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
In the eighteenth century, Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges (Kelvin Harrison Jr.), arrives in Paris, causing a stir amongst the French aristocracy, given his controversial lineage as the illegitimate son yet sole heir of an enslaved African and a French plantation owner. Yet the young man's palpable talent for the violin soon transforms his fate, allowing him to rise through the ranks of society to pursue a career as a composer until a torrid affair causes his star to burn out. Stephen Williams directs the biographical drama based on true events. Co-starring Samara Weaving.
