Synopsis by Jack Rodgers
Director Gianfranco Rosi sheds light on the subject of African migration to Europe by training his camera on Lampedusa, a picturesque island located halfway between Libya and Sicily, where more than 100,000 Africans first set foot on European soil every year. Rosi also served as cinematographer for this documentary, which won the Golden Bear at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival.
