Synopsis by Tom Ciampoli
10,000 Saints is a coming-of-age drama from directors Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini (American Splendor) set in 1988, centering around a Vermont teenager named Jude (Asa Butterfield) who moves to Manhattan with his drug-dealing father, Les (Ethan Hawke), with whom he has a strained relationship. On the heels of a night of partying that leads to his best friend dying from a drug overdose, Jude gets closer to new friend Eliza (Hailee Steinfeld) and his deceased friend's half-brother (Emile Hirsch), all while falling deeper into the city's burgeoning punk scene and its straight-edge fans. The film co-stars Emily Mortimer as Les' girlfriend, and Julianne Nicholson as Jude's adoptive mother.
