Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Until They Get Me was the last of three 1917 productions directed by the versatile Frank Borzage. Almost, but not quite, as sentimental as such later Borzage efforts as Humoresque and Seventh Heaven, the film focuses on Kirby (Jack Curtis), a brawny Northwoodsman who is forced to take it on the lam after killing a man in self-defense. For several years, Kirby successfully eludes the Northwest Mounties, returning home once a year to check on his beloved son. During one such visit, Kirby is captured by a Mountie named Selwyn (Joe King) -- who, as fate would have it, is in love with Margy, a girl who owes Kirby a favor for saving her life. For Margy's sake, Selwyn helps Kirby mount a successful self-defense plea for his upcoming murder trial then dutifully resigns from the Force. Happily, Selwyn manages to retain Margy's love and his commission as the film fades to black.
