Synopsis by Mark Deming

A man paying a visit to his old home town leads him to reconsider the life he left behind in this drama from filmmakers Federico Godfrid and Juan Sasiain. Esteban (Ezequiel Tronconi) grew up in the tiny village of La Tigra, but grew tired of small town life and pulled up stakes for Buenos Aires, where he's been living for several years. However, Esteban wants to see his father, so he comes home for the first time since moving away only to discover dad has a new job as a truck driver and will be on the road for the next few days. As Esteban waits for his father to return home, he spends some time with his elderly aunt (Ana Allende), helps her run some errands and is reminded of the peace and quiet of life in La Tigra. Esteban finds only so much to be nostalgic about until he sees Vero (Guadalupe Docampo), a childhood friend who has grown into a lovely woman. As Esteban and Vero become reacquainted, he finds himself deeply infatuated with her, and wonders if they could have a future together, even though he's planning to marry the local butcher (Federico Ibanez). La Tigra, Chaco was an official selection at the 2009 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
