Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Upon arriving at her new home in the Netherlands and learning the legend of old Saint Nick, young Chinese immigrant Winky Wong makes a Christmas wish to have her very own horse. Winky's old horse Sara had to be put down due to old age, and now the devastated girl feels like she's lost her best friend. One day at her new school, Winky is thrilled to learn that a man named Santa Claus travels the world once a year to give good little boys and girls the presents they've been wanting all year. Later, when Santa pays a personal visit to Winky's town, the excited youngster becomes so overwhelmed that she forgets to give him the drawing of the horse she's always wanted. Though her father remains skeptical about the gift-giving traveler, Winky remains undeterred. No worries, because Winky is certain that Santa will receive the letter she sent to him through the mail. When Sant Nicholas' Day arrives and Winky's shoe is still empty, however, the saddened young girl decides to go to the local mall and confront the big man on his own turf. This time, Santa promises to give Winky the horse she's always wanted, an announcement that prompts her to quickly start building her own stable. But the more obsessed Winky becomes, the more her aunt and uncle begin to suspect that the best solution may be to make her dreams come true no matter what the cost.
