South Korean filmmaker Lee Jeong-Wook makes his directorial debut with the melodrama Gukhwaggoch Hyanggi (Scent of Love). Based on the romance novel by Kim Ha-in, the story involves In-ha (Park Hae-il) who meets Heui-jae (Jang Jin-yeong) in a book club. They are just friends, but he falls in love with her. Years later, he becomes a radio producer while she suffers the tragic loss of her family. He eventually tracks her down and declares his love. Scent of Love was shown at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival market.
