Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
Taylor Wong Tai-loi directs this gritty crime thriller based on a real-life kidnapping case. After putting up with more than enough petty taunts and abuse from his slave-driving boss Wong (Tien Feng), Li Wai finally snaps and vows revenge by abducting, with his friend Ma (Kent Cheng Chuk-see), the businessman's spoiled son. In the ensuing ruckus Wong's son gets accidentally killed, but Wai and Ma continue with the crime, sending the lad's severed ear to Wong when he refuses to pay. Still refusing to fork over even a penny, Wai and Ma kidnap Wong himself and soon receive a pile of cash from his family. Yet with a title like Sentenced to Hang, the film's final reel is more or less a foregone conclusion.
