Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
Following the lackluster box-office performance of Ricky Lau Koon-sai's Mr Vampire 4, the hoary series looked like it had reached its end. With this film, Lau tries (unsuccessfully) to revive the formerly lucrative franchise, using much of the cast from the original film. The film opens with master Lam (Lam Ching-ying) and his assistants Man Choi (Ricky Hui Koon-ying) and Chiu Sang (Chin Siu-ho) being dispatched to a noble family's estate whose pregnant lady of the house has been possessed by the spirit of a demon child and whose lord of the house has turned into a vampire. After successfully returning the husband back to his rightful non-undead state, using a bag of vampire tooth power, the trio tries to vanquish the demon child. When Lam's skills aren't adequate to the task, he grudgingly calls on his obnoxious female associate, Birdie (Sandra Ng Kwan-yu).
