Synopsis by Robert Firsching

Italian filmmaker Giuseppe Pellegrini directed this romantic giallo thriller under the pseudonym M. Mollin. Spaghetti Western veteran Peter Lee Lawrence stars as Stefano Bruni, the scion of a wealthy industry tycoon, who meets the beautiful Lidia Caselli (Erika Blanc) in Venice and falls in love with her. When Lidia dies in a car accident, Stefano falls into despair, and even though he begins another relationship with a woman named Giovanna, he can't get Lidia out of his mind. One day, however, he meets a reporter who could be Lidia's exact twin, and soon becomes involved in a web of blackmail, secrets, and Mafia crime. With an undistinguished supporting cast (Silvano Tranquilli being the only familiar name) and an emphasis on romance over thrills, this was one of the few gialli of the period which failed to find an audience. Lawrence committed suicide shortly thereafter, while the memorable Blanc (aka Erika Bianchi Colombatto) continued to act in horror films and thrillers.
