After spinning his wheel making such fluffy fare as the Happy Ghost series, Clifton Ko Chi-Sun directs this teen drama about eroding morals, bad parenting, and murder. Loletta (Loletta Lee) is a vivacious young lass from the wrong side of the tracks who has fallen for a thuggish junior varsity gangster who is already in hot water with his boss. May (May Lo Mei-mei) is a snobby rich girl in love with Chinese-Canadian Jacky (Jacky Cheung) who is about to go to school in Toronto. Yet the two become unlikely friends, in part because of their respective alienation from their parents. The two girls' friendship becomes unusually close, ending to some major lapses in judgment and at least one felony. Perhaps this film is most notable in Hong Kong because co-stars Jacky Cheung and May Lo married soon after the completion of the film.
