Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This silent comedy-drama was based on the novel Sunny Ducrow and had no relation to the 1929 Janet Gaynor/Charles Farrell musical. Sunny Ducrow (Vera Reynolds) works in a pickle factory. She would like to go on a trip to the country with her friend, Bert Jackson (George K. Arthur), so the two of them put on a little performance on a street corner to make enough money -- he plays accordion while she sings. A policeman is about to chase them away when Stanley Dobrington, a theater owner (Edmund Burns), sees them. He takes them to the country himself and offers Sunny a role in his latest production. Although Dobrington and Sunny fall in love, he never reveals that he already has a wife, whom he assumes had divorced him after she left. The wife Cissy (Ethel Clayton) shows up just when the happy couple decide to wed and she refuses to get a divorce. Sunny decides to marry Bert instead, but she finds out that he has already secretly wed Evelyn the wardrobe mistress (ZaSu Pitts). Cissy is hit by a car and killed, which finally leaves Dobrington free to wed Sunny.
