Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Rex Lease and Cullen Landis star as Tom and Joe Riley, respectively a fireman and a cop. The Riley boys both fall in love with the same girl, comely Mary (Marion Nixon). But when duty calls, the brothers forget their romantic rivalry and work shoulder-to-shoulder to "serve and protect." The climax is set in motion by the crooked machinations of Jack Nichols (Wheeler Oakman), a slum landlord with a habit of setting fires for the insurance money. The last-reel conflagration was expertly photographed by future Oscar-winner Ray June, who in 1927 was a mainstay of pinchpenny Gotham Pictures.
