Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The thread which binds together all the Milanese couples in this movie is a single, enigmatic woman. She is much given to her little deceptions. She told one man her name is Olga, and lied about what she does for a living. In fact, Veronica (Patrizia Piccinni) is a nurse. Cesare met Olga while interviewing women perfume users about their attitudes on world affairs. They had a brief sexual encounter, and then she left. She left her datebook behind, and he is determined to find her. Meanwhile, she has been having an affair with a businessman whose equally busy yuppie wife has no time for him, aside from brief conferences from her car to his while in traffic. Another couple also has their fates embroiled with hers, perhaps through her tendency to occasionally indulge in one-night stands.
