In 1994, Southern California punk rockers The Offspring defied the odds and took their album Smash to the tops of the charts, thanks to their surprise hit single "Come Out and Play." In 1998, they repeated the feat with Americana, an album that spawned such hits as "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)," and "Why Don't You Get a Job?" Americana is a documentary produced with the cooperation of the band that explores both their past and their present, incorporating concert footage and interviews with the group. Americana also features video of the group's friends from the extreme sports community showing their stuff on snowboards, skateboards, surfboards, and bikes.
