Synopsis by Bhob Stewart
This Taiwanese-South Korean animated family adventure with Mandarin dialogue follows little Dou-Dou from the city to a distant town where he's left with his grandmother, her dog Shilo, and her black cat Kulo. Dou-Dou makes friends with a girl who has died but who has missed the July deadline for passage through the spirit gate. The spooky world is visible to Dou-dou because he caught the tears of his shaman grandma and rubbed them in his eyes. Animated in Korea. Shown at the 1998 Vancouver Film Festival.
