This 1965 documentary concerns the more than one-half million Italians who have immigrated to Switzerland in hopes of finding work. The Italians are shunned by the Swiss and forced to live like animals in crowded conditions. Although the Italians represent one person in every five in the work force of the country, their struggles continue as they try to adapt to a people and society that clearly would like them to go home.
