Also known as Mother Love, Chaleur du Sein was adapted by director Jean Boyer from his own stage play. The story concerns three women, all the ex-wives of archeology professor Michel Simon. Raising the first wife's son (Jean Paqui), without the benefit of a strong parental role model, the three ladies spoil the kid rotten. When the grown-up boy finds that life isn't a bowl of cherries after all, he attempts suicide, prompting his trio of "mothers" to realize how they've failed him. Fortunately, this also awakens the long-dormant paternal instincts of the neglectful Simon, who vows to do right by the boy from now on. Alas, the kid isn't out of the woods yet, obliging Simon and his three ex-spouses to rescue him from a life of crime.
