This film won the Grand Prize of the All-Union Film Festival, State Prize of USSR. Sofiko Chiaureli plays a newspaperwoman whose job requires her to travel about with a photographer interviewing people whose letters to the newspaper seem interesting and socially significant. When confronted by a choice between dealing with a philandering husband's derelictions or her much more interesting career, she chooses the career and becomes herself the kind of woman she has been interviewing.
