Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Clyde Fitch's barnstorming stage piece The Way of the World was adequately transferred to celluloid by Universal's Red Feather division. Emory Johnson stars as Walter Croydon, who though technically the hero is anything but heroic. In his dogged pursuit of The Whole Truth, Croydon breaks up the happy marriage between Mr. and Mrs. John Nevill (Hobart Bosworth) and (Gretchen Lederer) by intimating that Mr. Nevill is not the father of Mrs. Nevill's baby. After four reels of tortured posturing, the "big confrontation" takes place in Reel Five, resulting in a decidedly unsettling ending. The trade magazine Variety expressed the opinion that, while the film was consummately produced, its subject matter was "unclean."
