Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

Based on a children's novel by Ulf Stark, this film follows the adventures of a Danish boy who moves with his sister to a village in Sweden when their single mother inherits a house there. Since his mother doesn't have many ties in Denmark anyway, its a fairly simple move for her. The children are dismayed to find that the house is an old, gloomy affair, and considerably run down to boot. All the same, it's a place to stay, and the children make the best of it. Among the first to make friends with them is a shy musical prodigy about their own age who sneaks into the local church to play the organ. While the boy is falling in love with the class beauty at school and is discovering that she is dating the class bully, the family begins to experience phenomena that make then think that their house is haunted.
