In the third of a trilogy of films featuring the colossal steam locomotives known as Big Boys, the spotlight is on the giants that made the runs over Sherman Hill before being phased out. A group of former Big Boy engineers and firemen share their memories of running and firing up the engines over the hill in Last of the Giants, Vol. 3: Sherman Hill. Allan Kreig, writer, director, and producer of the programs, relates some of the challenges that arose during the filming. The original footage was shot in 16 mm color film, which has been restored for this presentation.
