Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
A Danish lawyer (Gunnar Lauring) is about to unwittingly provide a false alibi for four Danish-American gangsters attempting to rob the crown jewels from the not-too-secure Rosenborg Castle. It is the lawyer's quick-witted wife (Beatrice Bonnesen) who gets wise to the crooks, but only after a great deal of repartee. Heavily influenced by Hollywood screwball comedies in general and The Thin Man series in particular, Lauring and Bonnesen made half a dozen pleasant if lightweight comedies, all of which became quite popular with a war-weary audience. Johan Jacobsen, arguably Danish film's most technically proficient director of his era, helmed most of the Lauring-Bonnesen romps with a sure hand, something all too rare in Danish films.
