Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Tom Moore is Tom Blake, a novelist whose first book is a best-seller. Unfortunately, he spends all his royalties in bohemian revelry, and his publisher suggests that perhaps he should find a quiet place to start work on his next novel. Blake hears of an aristocratic but debt-ridden Virginian family that is looking for a boarder, so under an assumed name, that's where he lands. Eugenia, the young lady of the family (Doris Pawn), wants to be a writer and Blake begins giving her tips, until eventually they become both romantic partners and collaborators. Blake's publisher agrees to buy the book, which will erase the home's mortgage, but when Eugenia insists that Blake too should get credit, his true identity comes out. Eugenia, believing his involvement was an act of charity, is furious, but when the servant Toby (Nick Cogley) acknowledges Blake as one of the family, Eugenia realizes she can't stay mad at him for long. This light comedy is based on the play by John Tainter Foote.
