Synopsis by Janiss Garza

The amusing story to this fast-paced comedy was written by Neysa McMein, who was better known as an artist, illustrator and member of the Algonquin Round Table. John Emerson and Anita Loos, whose writing skills were far more well-known, adapted the story to the screen. Molly Townsend (Madge Kennedy) is engaged to notorious bootlegger Luis Riccardi (Marc McDermott). While doing jury duty, she falls in love with John Locke, the man on trial (Harrison Ford). It turns out he was framed, and she helps him get off. To avoid the wedding ceremony with Riccardi, she sends her maid off in her place and sails off on Riccardi's boat with Locke. The crew, made up of Riccardi's gang, toss Locke overboard. The first mate, Bull Jordan (Ivan Linow), chases after Molly and she has to use all her wits to elude him. Eventually Locke reappears just in the nick of time to save her.
