Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Donald McKenzie (William Russell) has inherited his woodchopper father's brawn and his mother's poetic sensibilities. In the woods, he meets Mabel Condon (Charlotte Burton), the daughter of an ailing publisher (George Ahern) and the fiancée of a slumlord. When Pierre (John Prescott), a drunken guide, insults Mabel, McKenzie slugs him. When the slumlord roughs up a village girl, McKenzie is on the spot again, fists flying. Pierre and the slumlord join forces to get revenge on McKenzie, who meanwhile is writing a successful series of poetry books under an assumed name. When Pierre is shot during a poaching run, he confesses to the plan to ruin McKenzie. Mabel dumps the slumlord in favor of her protector.
