Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Thomas Singleton (Arthur Allart) goes crazy when his wife dies giving birth to their daughter. He recovers eventually, but his half brother, Jordon Morse (David M. Hartford) keeps him locked up at the asylum. After seventeen years, Singleton escapes and tracks down his daughter, Rose (Bessie Barriscale). Rose is due to inherit a lot of money on her eighteenth birthday, and he is sure Morse will try to trick her out of it, so he sends her to live with his former gardener, Lafe Grandoken (Howard Hickman), who's now crippled and working as a cobbler. She meets wealthy Theodore King (Norman Kerry) and they begin a romance. But then Morse discovers where she is and what she's doing, and he hires thug Maudlin Bates (William Delmar) to kill King. But Bates decides he wants Rose, and her money, for himself. He threatens to harm Grandoken unless he forces Rose to marry him, but Morse shoots him and tosses the gun by the cobbler's chair. So Grandoken is tried for the murder, and his one witness -- Rose -- has been kidnapped by Morse. But she gets away in time to reveal who the real murderer is. Grandoken is released and Rose settles down with King.
