Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This melodrama was set in Kentucky's Blue Ridge mountains and has the usual hillbilly background; nevertheless director Edgar Lewis manages to bring a little spirit to a standard story. Engineer John Marshall (E.K. Lincoln) comes to the mountains with plans to acquire land to build a gigantic power plant. There, he meets and falls in love with Mary Elizabeth Dale, a school-teacher (Helen Ferguson). The ignorant local folk think he is a revenuer and are determined to send him packing. Hostilities come to a head when a group of the hillbillies ride through a storm to lynch the innocent Marshall. Marshall and Trav Williams (George Seigmann) wind up locked in a bloody fist-fight and things looks bad for the engineer. Finally his associates arrive from their camp and save his life. Marshall completes his mission and wins the girl.
