Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Although Frank Packard proved his talent by coming up with The Miracle Man, he was also responsible for the story to this uninspired melodrama. In order to get to New York, John Bruce (Tom Moore) agrees to go to work for a man who owns a chain of gambling clubs. The man sends Bruce from the South Sea Islands to the Big Apple to investigate some crooked employees. Bruce becomes involved romantically with Claire Veniza (Edith Roberts), and when he is seriously wounded in a free-for-all, she saves his life by agreeing to marry the drug-addicted Dr. Crang (Charles Gerard) so that he will dress Bruce's wounds. Crang is determined to hold Claire to her promise, and threatens to expose the man who she believes to be her father (Josef Swickard) for a crime committed many years before. But on the day of the wedding, Old Hawkins (James Barrows) -- Claire's real father, and a drunk -- redeems himself by driving his car, which contains the doctor, off the edge of a ferry. Bruce comes to the girl's aid and they are united.
