Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The defendants in this film are on trial for burning down a forest which was once privately owned, but was expropriated by the Cuban state. Out of pure spite, the exiled former owner apparently had them burn it. The men tell their stories, and the flashbacks which reenact those stories make it clear that many of the tales are improbable at best, or even impossible.
