Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Members of an artist community opt for decadence as they anticipate the end of the world as they know it. As the storm clouds of war gather over Europe, a famous painter (Jan Nowicki) and his Bohemian friends revel in sex, drugs, and alcohol. The young artist Karol (Maciej Robakiewicz) begins his own series of paintings in between his love affairs. With the Nazi invasion of Poland in September 1939, the party is over, and the idyllic world of creativity gives way to the horrors of war.
