Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This low-budget romance suffers from an unconvincing ending. Robert Ardis (Lloyd Hughes) is a small-town boy who is studying for the ministry. Marcheta, a Gypsy girl (Derelys Perdue), comes to town with her grandfather Pietro (Josef Swickard) and causes a stir. The women of the village all dislike Marcheta because her beauty attracts the men. Ardis' kid brother falls ill and Marcheta brings about his recovery. Although he is drawn to her, Ardis is repulsed by her pagan ways and the fact that she refuses to believe in God. When Pietro dies, Marcheta turns away from the aid Ardis offers. A storm blows in and destroys the bridge, which Ardis is crossing. He is thrown into the water and Marcheta, in spite of herself, prays for help. Just then a tree falls across the stream and she is able to rescue him. She confesses that she now believes in God, and the couple is united.
