Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This program is part of a series that examines some of the most unusual events and people that were part of the World War II experience. The stories are told using archival film footage, photographs, personal accounts, and scholarly commentary. This episode considers the theories as to why Hitler pulled his forces back from the Battle of Dunkirk. That decision enabled British forces to regather their strength and contributed to Germany's ultimate defeat in the war.
