Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Still another "reality" series, UPN's Under One Roof started out with five different families, each hoping to become the proud owners of a "dream house" in Fiji. In order to achieve this goal, all five clans had to learn to live together in that selfsame house for a period of several weeks. While the people involved did their best to get along with each other, the producers obliged them to play a series of games, based upon rituals found in Fijian culture. Prominent among these were "Property Quest," in which the participants were awarded ribbons that counted as points toward victory, and "Family Face Off," wherein the house's occupants were required to choose between an "advantage" item or an unknown special prize. In true Survivor fashion, one of the families was voted out of the house on every other episode, until only two clans were left. Hosted by Rob Nelson, Under One Roof debuted March 22, 2002.
