Synopsis by Janiss Garza

One day Anne Tyson (Luella Maxim), a young plainswoman, encounters a stranger (Ed Brady), who claims to be her brother John, who was jailed fifteen years ago for a crime he did not commit. She is more than willing to help him out, even though his actions draw the suspicion of her sweetheart, Deuce Duncan (William Desmond, whose cheerful demeanor earned him the nickname "Smiling Bill"). Duncan works at a ranch that is being plagued by cattle rustlers. When John is captured as one of them, however, Duncan makes sure he is let free, only because of his family ties. But one day John gets drunk and attacks Anne, revealing that he is only impersonating her brother, who is still in jail. Duncan comes on the scene and saves her. The head rustler, meanwhile, has escaped and he shoots John dead. Hero and heroine celebrate this turn of events with a clinch.
