Synopsis by Alice Day
The science of archaeology has undergone major advances, enabling scientists to look for artifacts, fossils, and other objects with a new set of highly developed tools. This technology is presented in Ultrascience 2: High Tech Digs, and viewers can look on as these instruments are demonstrated. Archaeologists are able to inspect areas underground or under the sea, using sensing devices that provide a picture without physically digging. Computer technology is utilized to form simulations of sites, and satellite and space shuttle views add a new perspective to archaeology.
