Originally released in October of 1931, Two Fisted Justice suffers from too much "silent" acting by a cast who obviously hadn't quite gotten used to those pesky microphones. The chief offender here is arch villain William Walling, who seems to have wandered in from one of those barnstorming melodramas of the early 1910s. At one point, the redoubtable Walling, his nostrils blaring, charges the equally unsavory Gordon DeMain, seriously harming poor little Bobby Nelson's pet dog, an unpardonable sin then as now. The pooch survives, happily, as Two Fisted Justice limps toward an all too foregone conclusion.
