Review by Hans J. Wollstein

Filmed at Victorville, CA (later to become the home, ironically, of the Roy Rogers Museum), Tumbling Tumbleweeds has all the ingredients that make a good B-Western: hard riding, intrigue, comedy relief, and fisticuffs. What it doesn't have, however, is a believable hero. For that, truth be told, Gene Autry is still too green and inexperienced and the action stops dead every time he opens his mouth to do anything other than sing. Happily, he does that often and well and despite the caveats Tumbling Tumbleweeds made a mint at the box office.
