In this comedy-drama produced for Canadian television, Verna (Leslie Hope) is a young Jewish woman who is looking for the man of her dreams in the late '50s. But Verna's pseudo-beatnik style and pre-feminist outlook does not make her seem like much of a catch to many eligible bachelors, and her refusal to downplay her Jewish heritage doesn't help much, either. True Confections also features Kyle McCulloch and Jill Riley.
