Synopsis by Nathan Southern
As produced by naturalist Greg Grainger, the documentary Triumph and Tragedy on Great Reef transports viewers to the spectacular Great Barrier Reef of Australia, for a veritable cinematic cross-section of its ecosystem. This program concurrently unveils the majesty and mystery of the reef - with hundreds of sights on display including octopi, multi-colored tropical fish, moray eels, Christmas tree worms, and trumpet fish - and meditates at length on the myriad of external dangers that the sea life in that environment must face on a regular basis.
