Jon Fredric West is Tristan and Waltraud Meier is Isolde in this lavish production of Richard Wagner's operatic tale of love and tragedy, staged by the National Theater of Munich. In a story set in Medieval times, Tristan and Isolde fall deeply in love with one another after drinking a magical potion, but as fate would have it, he is the nephew of the King of Cornwall -- whom she has been pledged to marry. Zubin Mehta conducts the Bayerisches Staatsorchester and Chorus of the Bayerische Staatsoper.
