Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
This dramatic feature finds a wealthy farmer sending his three daughters to a convent when he gives his existing land to his only son. In the wake of World War II, the son is evicted and disowns his father. Homeless and poor, the father seeks the help of his daughters, but only the youngest will help him. The girl is courted by a young farm worker, but she chooses to remain with the order. The nuns forget themselves and engage in a bit of drinking and dancing one night. Leaving the order, the young girl and her father move on to try to start a new life in the changing socio-economic conditions of a country now devoted to the ideals of communism.
