In 1956, just as it had after World Wars I and II, the Netherlands accepted refugee Hungarian children into Dutch foster families. This documentary, filmed mainly on trains to and from the Netherlands, features interviews with those children, now grown. Some remained in the Netherlands and assimilated into Dutch culture, others remained but continued to identify themselves as outsiders, and a few returned to Hungary, only to find that their upbringing made return difficult.
