Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This British TV adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's adventure novel Treasure Island was at once the most inventive and most static version of all. Stevenson's yarn of pirates and buried treasures unfolded in still-frame "storybook" fashion, narrated by producer Paul Honeyman (who played all the roles, from Jim Hawkins to Long John Silver) and illustrated by John Worsley. The serialized narrative ran for six ten-minute episodes. Treasure Island was presented by Anglia Television in 1972.
