The seventh episode of Travels in Europe finds host Rick Steves in the "Eternal City" of Rome. Describing the Seven Hills street plan as a "bowl of spaghetti," Rick ushers the viewer to such landmarks as St. Peters, the Colosseum, the Forum, and Santa Maria in the Trastevere district. Other stopovers include a few garish examples of Mussolini's fascist architecture and a handful of enticing out-of-the-way locales. Finally, Rick pays a visit to Ostia Antica, one of the best-preserved vestiges of ancient Rome.
