The Trains on Location series, narrated by TRAINS editor Kevin P. Keefe, takes the railroad enthusiast aboard freight and passenger trains bound for some of the most scenic areas in North America. The train lover gets a close-up look at the engines which power the trains as well as a tour of the cars and cargoes. Interviews with railroad workers and historians provide insights into the operations and history of each line. The scenic canyon of Feather River in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains is the setting for this episode, as the Northern Pacific negotiates the turns at James, Williams Loop, Keddie Wye, and the Honeymoon Tunnels. The sights and sounds of the exciting ride are captured in color and stereo.
