This episode from the fourth season of the Emmy-nominated PBS TV series features host Peter Whittaker as he takes viewers on a tour climbing chimneys and crags in the heart of the Needles located in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He climbs a multi-pitch route and "learns the ropes" of a simul-rappel. Highlights include footage of climbing some of the exposed granite spires -- or "needles" -- that tower above pine and aspen forests, providing a wide variety of excellent rock routes. These natural wonders boast names like Vertigo View, Rhinoceros Rock, and Inner Outlet.
