Kung-fu artist-turned-film director Frankie Chan Fan-kei spins this maudlin melodrama. After her husband Alex (Julian Cheung Chi-lam) gets horribly injured in a fire on a film shoot for a television commercial, Hiu-tung (Anita Yuen Wing-yee) learns that he not only had an affair with a woman named Blacky but also managed to impregnate her. Soon afterwards, Alex dies and Hiu-tung sets out to find Blacky (Josie Ho Chiu-yee), whom she learns is a poorly educated low-class woman who has no desire to carry the pregnancy to term. Yet when Alex's wealthy mother offers Blacky a stack of money to have the child and continue the family line, she accepts the offer much to the dismay of Hiu-tung. More problems unfold when the doctors learn that Blacky has a major heart ailment that might kill her if she chooses to carry on with the pregnancy.
