Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
When a mind-altering internet game begins to manipulate unsuspecting players into committing heinous acts of violence, it's up to Detective Inspector Dave Creegan (Robson Creek) and his partner D.I. Susan Taylor (Nicola Walker) to solve a case that stretches back fifteen years. "Amathus" is a gothic fantasy game in which players are led to commit a variety of reprehensible acts ranging from animal mutilation to cold-blooded murder. When the murder begins to branch out of the game an into a college campus, inspectors Creegan and Taylor set out to stop the carnage before it becomes too widespread. Now, as Creegan begins to draw parallels between the current case and a notorious case from fifteen-years ago involving now-incarcerated prostitute Justine Barber (Linda Henry), a suspect emerges in the form of the Amathus Webmaster (Toby Salaman) whose intense obsession with Justine seems to have driven him to murder. With little choice but to release Justine and use her as bait to draw the killer in, Creegan sets into motion a dangerous plan as fellow O.S.C. team member D.S. Jonathan Kreitman (Adam Kotz) opts to face his inner demons by taking the law into his own hands.
