Synopsis by Ed Atkinson
The Grateful Dead held a cult-like following that trailed behind the band as it toured. This following developed into its own culture, with trade, currency and structure like that of nomadic tribes of the past. Tiedyed is a documentary of these fans and followers. Never once is the band shown, and hardly are they discussed in the various interviews of members of this culture. What is discussed is the community that has developed and the reasons that so many people, even after 30 years, continued to follow the band.
